Saddleback College women's water polo has had a good pre-season, however, in last Wednesday's game, they were unable to step up and beat Fullerton College.

Coach Jen Higginson still is confident in her team and impressed by their ability to play hard.

The game started out with 2-0 in the first quarter, but Saddleback stepped up in the second quarter scoring two goals making it 4-2. Third quarter came in 7-3 and the final score was 11-5.

Main scorers were Dani Peeler with two goals, Whitney Warner with two, and Rena Phairojmahakij with one. Goalie, Krista Mueller, made 15 saves in the course of the game.

"The girls played really well, we just gave them the opportunity to score and they took it," said coach Higginson. "But I am really impressed with they way they played under pressure."

The women's next game is Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at Saddleback against Santa Ana at 3 p.m.
