Back-up quarterback David Ingram came in at the end of the first quarter and led the Saddleback College football team, ranked eighth in Southern California, in a 31-20 victory over College of the Canyons, ranked 12th in Southern California, in the CCCAA Western State Bowl at Saddleback College. Ingram was named MVP of the bowl.
Saddleback College (8-2, 4-2) will host College of the Canyons Cougars (6-4, 3-3) in the SCFA Western State Bowl on Saturday at 5 p.m. The bowl selection is the ninth consecutive for Saddleback, which ties a school record.
Saddleback overcomes a 14-point, first quarter deficit to roll over Grossmont, 44-27. The win eliminated Grossmont from platoff contention and secured a bowl game for Saddleback.
For the third time in as many weeks, the Saddleback College football team, ranked 19th in the nation, was faced with a halftime deficit. For only the second time, the Gauchos were able to overcome it. Saddleback outscored Long Beach City College 28-3 in the second half en route to a 28-24 Southern Conference victory on Saturday.
Last week’s comeback magic could not be matched on Homecoming night. The Saddleback College football team, ranked seventh in the nation, saw a potential winning cut short on an interception in the end zone with eight seconds left in a 27-21 loss to visiting Palomar College. The Comets were ranked tweny-first in the nation coming in to the contest.

After a record setting rout last week, the Saddleback College football team took the field Saturday night and torched San Bernardino Valley College, 52-0. Saddleback, ranked No. 11, completely shut down the Wolverines. The win extended the Gauchos’ record to 14-0 all-time against San Bernardino and handed the hapless Wolverines their 18th consecutive loss.

Saddleback, the nation’s 11th-ranked team, scored on 11 of its 12 possessions in the game only failing to score on its final offensive drive.
