SOCCCD Trustees approve faculty contract

The Board of Trustees voted Monday, April 27, to approve the 2007-2010 faculty contract, which includes future pay raises for instructors.

Saddleback College Vice President of Instruction Rajen Vurdien said in an e-mail to staff that he would like “to thank the District Negotiations Team. In addition, I would like to thank the Faculty Association Negotiations Team…for their professionalism and perseverance during the negotiations process as well.”

The 2007-2008 pay increase for part-time and full-time faculty will be processed this summer, and the 2008-2009 pay increase for full-time and part-time faculty will be processed by the end of the current fiscal year, said Vurdien.

“We appreciate your understanding and patience during this period as our staff will be working very diligently to get all faculty paid accurately and in a timely fashion,” Vurdien said.
