The Irvine Valley Lasers baseball team came back to defeat visiting Golden West, 7-6, last Tuesday, and sophomore Abel Medina, from Santa Ana Valley high school, finished was a big reason why.
The shortstop out of Santa Ana Valley High School finished his day going 3-for-4 with six RBIs, which accounted for all but one run for IVC. He also had a stolen base in the game.
His biggest moment came during clutch time when, with the bases loaded, Medina hit a shot down the right field line that scored two runs and gave the Lasers the victory. The two teams will face off on again on Thursday at Golden West College at 2 p.m.. On Saturday March 8, the Lasers host the Gauchos at 12 p.m.
