The Saddleback softball team entered Wednesday's game against Cypress College looking to do what no other conference team has done this year- simply beat the Chargers.

The Gauchos tied the game, 1-1, on a single by Lauren Molina, and later took a 2-1 lead heading into the bottom of the seventh inning with two outs.

Cypress Right Fielder Caitlin McGrath hit a game-winning two-run home run to win the game and make history. The home run was McGrath's first collegiate home run as the Chargers became the first softball team in Orange Empire Conference history to finish conference play undefeated, 21-0.

Over the past five years, the Chargers have had only one loss in conference play.

The Gauchos will head to the Southern California Regional Finals, May 3rd and 4th.
