Irvine Valley's women's volleyball season was nearly perfect. Twenty-two consecutive wins were followed, however, by one very unfortunate loss.

After sailing unscathed through regular season play and two rounds of playoff action, the Lasers met the end of the road Nov. 24 with an unexpected five-game home loss to College of the Canyons in the Southern California Regional Finals.

Throughout the memorable season, IVC posted the highest number of wins in program history and saw sophomore outside hitter Chelsea Pavlik shatter the previous season kill record with her 494 total kills. The previous season-high was set by Natalie Dittrick, who finished with 386.

Pavilk also broke the record for most digs in a season with her 282 finish and sits third for most aces in a season with 52.

The Lasers, who started the season ranked No. 10 in the state, climbed to No. 1 by Oct. 19.
