Athletics take break due to smoke in air

Due to poor air quality resulting from Southern California's recent fires, Saddleback and Irvine Valley Colleges cancelled the majority of sports for the week of Oct. 26.
IVC's postponed events included Tuesday's men's and women's soccer games. Both were rescheduled for Monday at 3 p.m. Thursday's women's soccer game at Cypress has been moved to Tuesday at 3 p.m.
Saddleback cancelled all sports on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, which encompassed cross country, men's water polo, women's soccer, women's volleyball and football's road game at Cerritos.
Details and rescheduled games will be posted by the athletic department on the school's Web site as soon as the information is available.
