Many Americans do not feel shame in turning on a computer to view adult entertainment videos or pictures when they are curious about sex.

This state of mind accounts for the current rise in statistics for online pornography in the United States.

According to Family Safe Media, every second in the U.S., $3,075.64 is being spent on pornography, 28,258 Internet users are viewing pornography and 372 Internet users are typing adult search terms into search engines.

"It's disgusting that people would watch online porn," said Trisha Bui, 17, undecided. "But they can, and will, do what they want."

Today, America has the fourth largest pornographic industry in the world, producing a new pornographic video every 39 minutes. While China takes the lead, South Korea takes a close second and Japan is in third.

In 2006, the combined adult entertainment revenue was greater than that of ABC, CBS, and NBC ratings in America combined.
From 2001-2006, America's number of online porn site visitors has quadrupled, jumping from 18.75 million devotees to 75 million a month.

Internet porn does not make as much money as video porn, but, it does make more revenue than exotic dance, 'mature' cable shows/movies, triple X novelties, and pornographic magazines.

The U.S. currently has 244,661,900 triple X websites available to its citizens; the largest amount compared to every other country in the world.

By law, viewers must be at least 18 years of age to gain access to these adult websites, but the average age that an individual is introduced to online nudity is actually 11, according to the Family Safe Media's Children Internet Pornography Statistics.

"You should have to be 18 to see what's on these sites. It should be censored until you prove that you're 18," said Katie Beck, 18, marine biology. "It's too easy for kids to get on porn websites."

The statistics also state that 80 percent of 15-17 year-old teens are exposed to such sites on a regular basis. There are clips of mature images and videos that are available to anyone who visits a porn site.

I don't get it, how can this be allowed to happen? Porn yes, is a big thing, and sure, there are tons of people that can get an emotional high, but I have to throw in the question of moral and of ethics! I don't hear too many people walking down the sidewalk talking about how much porn they saw last night, to me this implies that there is a sense of shame in it. (Continued…)

We have a choice toward porn: click it, or walk away from it!
I trust that many young adults as well as adults take a good choice! We have to celebrate good choice and tune down bad choice!
Those who decide to walk away from porn, or choose to avoid any blogs that advertise porn, plese SPEAK UP. (Continued…)

Well...this is obviously biased against men as it never asks a man his opinion on the subject. What people do in the privacy of their own home is their own business. (Continued…)

I was at Hollywood video last year and a young boy asked me if I had seen the movie Warlord and I told him that I had. He then asked if it showed nudity because he wasn't aloud to watch films that had nude scenes and I told him it had a short nude scene. (Continued…)
