Under new leadership, Saddleback's women's golf team still reaps the same results.

Head coach Nick Trani opened his first season with the team with a 370-399 victory over Palomar College on Wednesday, Sept. 5.

Gauchos Brittany Ruble led the event with 87 strokes. Teammates Kori Broadhead, Karolyne Crowe (94) and Connie Gonzalez (96) also made their mark in the victory.

Trani is filling the shoes of Bill Cunerty, who retired this spring. Saddleback has won the past two Orange Empire Conference titles and six of the past seven conference titles in its nine seasons of existance.

Wednesday's match was the first in Palomar's inaugural season.
